Dubber Side of the Moon

In 2003, Easy Star All-Stars released a dub/reggae concept album called "Dub Side of the Moon" that reimagined all of the songs from the Pink Floyd albums as reggae jams. On October 18th, they are releasing a followup.......Wait for it......Dubber Side of the Moon. Its going to have even dubber (dubbier?) heavy dub and dubstep remixes of the original songs. Below is the version of "Money" from the album and it sure sounds pretty dank. Look for me to post more about the full album as soon as it comes out.

Jack Daddy Sunrise

Let me introduce you to Jack Daddy Sunrise. They are a folk band out of DePauw who ranges from 5 to 7 members and uses nearly every kind of stringed instrument you could imagine. On many a night I've enjoyed this ensemble's passionately soulful jams. Luckily, Winky Productions has been able to capture a small taste of the music these guys have to offer with some really well-produced videos. So, sit back and watch Jack Daddy Sunrise work their magic.

Look for more music to come from them soon. Also, check out their website here.

Deadmau5 USTREAM

Deadmau5 now has a USTREAM channel. It is amazingly epic because it's like being back stage at a live show. And his live show stuff is bangin. If you skip to about 1:04:00, he has an amazing mix of My Name is Skrillex, definitely worth checking out. I'm going to put this channel on whenever I just want a little taste of a rave.

La Roux- In For The Kill Remixes EP

So, La Roux released an EP of four new remixes of her epic tune "In For The Kill," about two weeks ago and it is quite dank. The first remix, Skream's Let's Get Ravey remix, has been out for a while and it is probably one of the greatest goosebump-generating jams I have ever heard. The first time I heard "In For The Kill," it was late at night driving with my friend Robbie, and Skream's remix came on and it was one of those silent "Holy shit" moments that only comes once in blue moon. So, if you haven't heard this remix, you NEED to ASAP.
The next remix is by one of my favorites: SKRILLEX. Skrillex's music is always sooo intense and epically banger-worthy and this remix definitely does not stray far from his other stuff. It has an epic intro that builds up into a deathly wompy Skrillex explosion that is definitely not for the faint of heart.
The other remixes on the EP are good too.Tim Bran has a discoey take, and Danger has a pretty dank take as well.

You can buy the album on iTunes.

Delphic

I recently found out about this London band, "Delphic". Their music is a nice mix between electronic and alternative rock. A lot of their songs sound like traditional rock songs, but with awesome beats mixed in. It's definitely very catchy stuff and I'm trying to see them in concert at a warehouse in London on October 29th. Listen to "Doubt" first-- its by far my favorite but the rest of the songs are pretty dank too.

Guess Who's Back?

Music of Manny is back! It's only been a few weeks, but it seems like forever since I last added anything. I was in Spain for 9 days and am now in London for the semester. Spain was awesome, but I was disappointed that I didn't really get to here any new music. Every bar or club that I went to played top 40s American music. Even somewhat talented dj's played cheesy music. At this one club in Seville, they actually played "Who Let the Dogs Out."

Luckily though, I am in London- the dupstep capital of the world and overall music mecca, and so quality tunes await.

Unfortunately, I am not yet done with the new site format so stay tuned for that.

And now some new music:

I just found this new Deadmau5 dubstep tune on Hype Machine. I really like it because it has amazingly passionate vocals and slowly builds into a subtle dubstep womp session. It's dubstep but it still stays true to the mau5's style.

This next one I found right before I left for Spain and while I was there I queued it up on my ipod whenever I wanted to hear something to womp my face off (70's pop style).

Icarus Himself - Digging Holes

Icarus Himself has been on my radar for quite some time. What started out as a one man side project has now spiraled into the creative, indie folk trio that they are today. Fresh out of Madison, WI (what even comes outta there besides bros in pastels and Playboy-worthy college girls?). Anyway, these guys are bringing a fresh sound and I'm definitely about to cop their new "Mexico" EP.

Delorean- Subiza

I first discovered Delorean a few months back when I heard their song "Real Love". The song caught my attention because of the eerily enchanting chipmunk-pitched vocals throughout the song and its trippy yet poppish vibe.
It took me awhile to get around to checking out more of this Spanish 4 piece's stuff, but today I finally did. Their new album, "Subiza" is filled with dance-infused alternative pop and supplies plenty of chill music. Delorean is basically like the euro, slightly electronic child of Matt & Kim and Animal Collective.
I'm going to Spain in a week and I'm definitely hoping to find more sweet music like this when I'm there.

You can buy their album here.
